Nick and Abby met at the University of Idaho at the on-campus Chick-fil-A by accident. Abby happened to sit down next to Nick. (To this day there is disagreement if this was on purpose or not but either way it was fate!) Nick struck up a conversation after recognizing her from church. They spent the following months getting to know each other before Abby's impending graduation. 3 months later, Nick found out he was graduating a year early, the same time Abby was wrapping up at U of I. They went separate ways, doing long distance over the summer while Abby was working in Colorado as a backpacking guide, and Nick was at his internship in Vancouver, WA. While there, Nick found his first real job in Bellevue and moved there having never been to the city. Since then, Nick and Abby have lived in Bellevue, continuing to work their first jobs out of college, and fall even more in love! Nearly 2 years later, Nick proposed on November 18, 2023, with a scavenger hunt involving her closest friends and family, ending on a dock in Kirkland where they had shared one of their first memories after moving to the Greater Seattle Area.
